Hill's Academy is a property in Essex, Connecticut that was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1985. It is the home of the Essex Historical Society.
The property is or was also known as Essex Historical Society, Inc. and historically as Red Men's Hall because it served as an Improved Order of Red Men lodge.[1]
It is a two-story Greek Revival building that was built in 1832.[1][2]
The town voted to demolish the building in 1909, but it survived. Later, in 1954, the town established the Essex Historical Society to receive the property and to preserve local history.[2]
The NRHP listing was for an area of 0.3 acres (0.12 ha) with just one contributing building.[1]
